I keep meaning to write more here about myself, and I want to, soon. I miss everyone! I hope some of you are still around here. Things haven't been that great for me lately, but I'm trying to hang in there. Like that little cat on the branch in the famous poster. Hang in there, baby! Thinking of that cat always cheers me up a little. But then, thinking of cats is a cheering thing in general. That's probably why there are so many of them on the internet.

For now, though, here's a link to my new writing tumblr, where I've been posting sketches and stories: connemarajames. Feel free to follow! And if any of you out there have tumblrs I don't know about, let me know. I could always use more friends to follow.

My other, personal tumblr is foxaloxa.

Hey, another new blog post is up, over here!. A bit about poetry and writing along with the usual personal stuff.

And feel free to comment here if you have something to say about it. I miss journaling and talking to everybody around here.

I've been kind of absent here, I know. Things aren't going so well, but I'm trying my best to hang in there. Like that little cat on the poster, hanging on that screen door, or onto that tree limb. Wish me luck with everything. I could use it! I've been thinking of everyone and hoping you're all well. I'll have to post more about myself soon, when I have the time and inclination.

I think things in general are getting better? At least, I can tentatively say so. More on that later.

And no, this isn't a new query letter! For now, I am rewriting my Wind & Foxes query letter, and I figured I might as well post it for anyone who might have some advice.

W&F is kind of tricky just because there are so many stories and intertwining story lines involved. I'm focusing on the Reian story largely because it's the one that ties everything together most easily. Still very much a work in progress!

As always, I'd be happy to read/look over something in return.

Thanks so very much to everyone lately for so much help with feedback, or just for talking to me or leaving me a nice note. It is so appreciated. <3

I have ONE MORE query letter (sometimes I call them cover letters when speaking offhand, but I should call them query letters). This is for the third of my "in a finished state" novels. Of course, I'm going to go through and edit them some more (both the novel and the query letters), which can't hurt, but if anyone has any feedback for this one, it would be much appreciated.

When I last posted about trying to get into drawing more comics, a lot of people said they missed Kittyland. And you know what? I miss it, too!

It's hard for me to get back into it, though. So if anyone has any ideas for a subject or theme, feel free to suggest them here! It can be anything at all. Anything you might like to see a Kittyland comic touch on. I'm going to try to do brainstorming on my own, but I'm one of those people who works well getting random ideas or bouncing ideas off of others. In any case, I might try to do a strip or two in the near future!

Also, based on everyone's help and feedback, I have edited my I, Private Eye cover letter. If anyone has any more ideas about it, let me know! Regardless, thanks to everyone who has given me feedback so far. Here it is:

Well, it's one more cover letter anyway. This one is for a very different novel, and again, if anyone would be willing to look it over for me and have any feedback whatsoever, I'd be so pleased/owe you one/etc. Just a single page this time!

I really only have three cover letters to work on; that's no so bad, is it? (Leaving aside the synopses for now.) As I believe I mentioned before, I am trying to fool myself into thinking these things are fun to do, so maybe I will be better at them and less plodding, and hopefully they will become more fun to read. I at least suffered less writing this one.

Also, I tried to add in one of those "compare my book to other books" paragraphs, which makes me groan because I hate comparing things, but I am trying to do things properly! So I hope that worked out all right.

Here it is: a covering letter! )

Hi there everyone! I'm really trying to work on selling my novels--I have three that are in enough shape to send out, so I might as well. I've just been really disheartened lately.

If someone--anyone--could look one or more of these over, I would be so grateful (and will try my best to return the favor in some way). I've been editing these, but I'd love a fresh opinion. It doesn't matter if you've read the novel or if you know about editing/publishing. If you could tell me if they are engaging, or if there's anything wrong with them, let me know!
